Donations
We are different than the typical international nonprofit organization, because unlike most international nonprofit organization, we operate our own facilities in the countries we work. Practically all of the large international nonprofit organization take donation from their donors and use this money to provide support for partner organization on the ground. We are trying to change the way people view international nonprofit organization by allowing our donors to visit our projects through our very affordable international volunteering programs. We believe that allowing our donors to visit our projects brings the highest level of transparency to our organization and allows our donors to share in our success, while getting to be a part of the children’s lives in which we help.
How we are Different
The Abandoned Children’s Foundation is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri U.S.A. and a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization that builds orphanages for orphaned children in Kenya. Our objective is to seek out orphans and provide them with shelter, food, and an education. We aim to turn these orphans into Kenya’s future leaders by giving them the same opportunities as other children.Abandonment alone can put a child at a disadvantage. We work to restore each child’s psychological state because having a strong mind and accepting ones situation is the first step in the road to recovery. We aim to serve every child we care for to the best of our ability and we adjust our approach with each child.Currently we serve 33 children. This number will triple with the opening of our newest orphanage. We plan to finish this orphanage in 2014. Then in 2015 we plan to expand into Kenya’s neighboring countries Uganda and Tanzania. We are already in negotiations of purchasing land in Mwanza, Tanzania
