​TEACHING PROGRAM 

 

In the teaching program, volunteers must rise early and be at the school before the children start to arrive. You will work with the current teacher of the class you are taking over to ensure you are staying on track with the current curriculum. You will teach for one hour class times and change subject after each hour. Teachers get several breaks during the day, at which time you can hang out with the school children or get to know the other teachers better. The children get a lunch break around noon. During this time you will also walk back to your home to grab lunch. After lunch you will continue teaching until 3 pm. Once you have completed your day of teaching you are free to visit the orphanage, hang out with other volunteers, take a trip into town for shopping, etc.
