I definitely found the experience worthwhile, I learned a lot about working under pressure and without resources, and the children constantly kept me relaxed and smiling. I think that in the 3 weeks I managed to enhance to some degree the English level of the children, and definitely motivated them to keep learning! I felt very appreciated by the children themselves as they didn't want me to leave!
I stayed in a host family and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The house was clean and the food was excellent.
In the last week I was quite tired and the children I taught always managed to make me forget this with their positive attitude and eagerness to learn. I also enjoyed the location of my placement in Thika Kenya.

I absolutely loved every single minute of it. I felt that all my needs and questions and concerns were answered in a timely matter and Janet the local coordinator was very reachable and answered ers phone whenever you needed her.
We had no electricity or running water but I could not complain. I learned to live with less and grew so much as a person.
I am so glad that I did this and am already signed up for another program with the ACF for a far longer duration of time.

I feel I chose the right project. Being able to interact with people from other cultures is always special and rewarding. Both the local staff and the Kenyan people I worked with were super friendly and welcoming.
I enjoyed the accommodation even though the facilities were quite basic. For me it is all about entering a zone where you have to accept the fact that this is not back home and you cannot expect hot water or comfortable beds.
There were so many favorite moments! The smiles on the children´s faces, the majestic animals during the safari, singing and dancing with my class...
Compared to other volunteering organizations the ACF has very fair fees.
I will recommend this program to others who seem interested in volunteering and traveling to a completely different culture. Thank you for making this journey possible!

Hi Wesley, Thanks for checking in! It's been going great! I can't believe its almost over, the time has flown by. The children are amazing. Once I got used to the food (it didn't take long) I have started to look forward to certain meals. Luckily I didn't get sick, just a day or two of a mild stomach ache but other than that its been great! I did a safari last weekend and went to Mombasa with another volunteer a few weeks prior. I wish I had time to see more.
