International Volunteering
WHY US
The Abandoned Children’s Foundation international volunteering is a nonprofit organization. This means that your program fees are not used for financial gain or profit. All international volunteering program fees are used to accommodate the volunteer while in Kenya and the remaining (approx. 50%) is put back into the nonprofit to keep our children’s home for Kenya’s orphans open. Our children’s home or orphanage are generally where volunteers are accommodated.

DIFFERENTIATION
The Abandoned Children’s Foundation International Volunteering is different than most international volunteering organization in that we are not a travel broker. The Abandoned Children’s Foundation International Volunteering programs are unique. Where most international volunteer programs are only travel brokers collecting your fees and then paying the local nonprofit organization to accommodate you while in their country. We on the other hand are not and when you volunteer with us you can rest assured that from the time you apply to the time you return home you will be helped by the Abandoned Children’s Foundation staff.
ACCOUNTABILITY
As a nonprofit organizations in the United State and nongovernmental organizations in Kenya we are held accountable to these governments and most importantly to our volunteers and the children whom we support. Our reputation at the Abandoned Children’s Foundation means a lot to us not only because of our standings with these government but because our volunteer recommendations are what keep volunteers coming back time and time again. This, in turn allows us to open more children homes or orphanages.
AFFORDABILITY
We understand that our volunteers are the most important part of our international volunteering program, not the money they pay for volunteering accommodations. This is why we have created a pricing plan that we feel is extremely affordable and fair in respect to our volunteers. However, many people tend to associate lower prices with low quality. Not us! We are able to offer lower prices because there are no third party organizations. All of our programs are original to the Abandoned Children’s Foundation International Volunteering allowing us to provide exceptional volunteer programs without the high price tags.
SAFETY
Travelling to a different country and experiencing a different culture can be a scary experience at the best of times, but when you are immersing yourself right into the culture through international volunteering and living among the local community, this apprehension can often be compounded. While safety can never be totally guaranteed wherever we are in the world, the Abandoned Children’s Foundation’s staff do all they can to ensure your volunteering project is as safe as humanly possible. You are placed in our children’s homes or with a trusted host family. Host families homes are inspected for safety, standards of living, and for resources that people from the western world are used to.
